Following seven dedicated years of cross-border commitment, professional evaluation, and high-altitude construction challenges, the Pisang Story House, situated at 3,300 meters above sea level, celebrated its official grand opening on August 4, 2026!

Standing quietly in this Himalayan valley for over a century, this traditional Tibetan stone house had long held the joys, sorrows, and memories of three generations of local families. Through this seven-year revitalization initiative—powered by the collective dedication of partners across Taiwan and Nepal—a historic home once threatened by youth outmigration and disrepair has been fully reborn into a vibrant multifunctional public hub for cultural preservation, traveler hospitality, and high-altitude community disaster resilience.

Gathering Beneath Snowy Peaks: Celebrating with Hot Tea and Fresh Apple Pies

Opening day brought lively energy to Upper Pisang. Village elders, neighbors, and local youth dressed in traditional attire to celebrate, while international trekkers walking the Annapurna Circuit Trail (ACT) followed the welcoming aroma straight into this warm alpine living room.

Together with local partners, the volunteer team served freshly baked artisan apple pies made from Manang’s sweet regional apples, alongside warm cups of tea and fresh-brewed coffee. Sitting together inside the sturdy, historic stone walls, language barriers dissolved into smiles and shared stories, marking the start of an inspiring new chapter for the village.

On August 4, 2026, Pisang Story House officially opened its doors. It was a truly meaningful day. Elders and neighbors from Pisang gathered to witness this old house begin a new journey. More than a bakery and café, this is a welcoming space that connects community, education, and cultural exchange. May this reborn house welcome friends from near and far.

Opening day was filled with warm smiles, joyful moments, and a very special milestone—we welcomed our first international guests! We can’t wait to share more wonderful moments with you!
