In 2025, a team of faculty and students from the Department of Civil Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), led by Associate Professor Po-Chien Hsiao and comprising 13 students, returned to Nepal to carry out an advanced phase of their community service and practical engineering project. Returning to Pisang in the Manang region, the team accomplished the primary structural work for the exterior walls of the long-awaited "Storytelling House," bringing new life to the previously collapsed stone structure. Additionally, the students constructed retaining terraced steps around the perimeter, creating a functional, safe, and welcoming public gathering space for the local community.

Alongside structural work, the NTUST team placed a strong emphasis on community resilience and disaster prevention education. At Manang Primary School, the team conducted interactive earthquake safety workshops. Through gamified teaching methods, students learned critical survival techniques, including earthquake safety drop-and-cover postures, emergency disaster kit preparation, and the identification of structural hazard zones during tremors. Furthermore, the team designed and installed village-wide tourist guides, evacuation route maps, and directional signposts across Pisang to enhance navigation and emergency preparedness. Wrapping up the mission, the group visited Kathmandu University for continued academic exchange, engaging in technical discussions centered on real-scale dam models and learning tunnels, thereby strengthening the ongoing engineering partnership between Taiwan and Nepal.
