On August 5, 2025, a team from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) traveled to Upper Pisang, where they constructed a hand-built retaining wall platform next to the Story House at the project center. This platform is intended for residents and visitors to rest and gather, deepening the university's efforts to revitalize the area surrounding the old house. Actively contributing to international exchange and contribution, the international team demonstrated a spirit of collaboration, utilizing the traditional techniques of Taiwan's Paiwan indigenous people to build the retaining wall. They collectively completed tasks such as environmental cleaning, slope leveling, crushed stone laying, and flagstone paving, successfully transforming the previously overgrown and cluttered space. Throughout the process, students and professors who participated in last year's project, having learned trail-building techniques and experience through collaboration with the Taiwan Footpaths Association, passed on their skills and engaged in mutual learning with this year's new students. This not only provided practical experience but also enhanced their collaborative communication abilities and deepened their connection with the local community. At the close of the event, photographs of the newly constructed retaining wall platform symbolized the hard work and achievements gained through their community service, which significantly elevated the students' professional expertise.
