On August 6, 2025, a team from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) visited Manang Elementary School in Nepal to conduct a disaster prevention education program. The goal of the program was to help local students learn important safety knowledge in an engaging and memorable way.

Short skits were used to demonstrate disaster response scenarios.

To begin the activity, the team introduced Taiwan and Nepal through a map-based presentation, helping students understand the distance between the two places and creating a friendly connection. The volunteers then performed short micro-plays to demonstrate important safety skills, such as how to escape from a fire, how to respond during an earthquake, and how to prepare an emergency kit. These performances helped students understand the situations more easily and made the learning process more interesting.

After the demonstrations, the program continued with several interactive games and team-based challenges. Through these activities, students were able to practice what they had learned while working together with their classmates. This hands-on learning approach helped reinforce their understanding of disaster response and encouraged active participation.

During the program, the students gradually became more confident and actively engaged in the activities. Many of them were able to explain the correct emergency procedures and respond quickly during the practice sessions. For the NTUST volunteers, this cross-cultural teaching experience also provided valuable opportunities to practice communication, teamwork, and public speaking skills.

Supplies and learning materials were distributed to the students.
